I like to name my outfits. When I do, I feel less like I’m dressed, and more like I’m costumed. Being in costume means being in character, feeling confident, and having fun. Feeling a little whimsical – okay, when am I not – I named this one Business Pirate. Still corporate enough for my office, but amusing enough for me!
I haven’t worn my hair like this in a while. I think it’s cute, but it sometimes gets annoying. For some reason, hair in my face is easier to deal with when all my dreads are hanging free! I couldn’t help but pair this style to this outfit, though… I can just imagine my dreads blowing in the wind as I captain a ship across the seven seas…
The name Business Pirate is partially inspired by Business Animals, a collection of comics from Scenes From A Multiverse by Jonathan Rosenberg that I picked up on a whim at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival in June. Totally the funniest comic I’ve ever read. You should check it out. And maybe buy the book too. Because seriously – so funny. I embarassed myself in public reading it on more than one occassion.
Have you seen any fabulous outfit posts lately? I’d love to check out some new bloggers! Leave a comment with a link, if you’ve got any suggestions for me.
